Optional / parallel path
WebSocket
Kick chat events
Real-time stream and chat events, with authentication handled across service boundaries.
02
Context & challenge
Live-stream communities depend on repetitive utilities: commands, queues, rankings, rewards, moderation and stream metadata. Most of these should be predictable and low-cost; conversational AI should be invoked only when it adds real value.
03
Approach
Event-driven chat integrations with a separate, optional AI response path. Kick chat commands cover random utilities, song requests, queue control, stream-title interaction, leaderboards and loyalty features. The Gemini-powered path responds only when the bot is directly addressed, preserving token usage for conversational requests.
The project source also includes Discord voice/TTS and WhatsApp integration work. These are implemented project components, not necessarily publicly hosted services.
04
My role
Personal project: design and implementation.
05
Engineering decisions
Deterministic first, AI by invitation
Separate deterministic command processing from token-consuming language-model calls.
Clear service boundaries
Handle authentication and real-time stream events across service boundaries, with extensible integrations that keep external API behaviour under control.
